Community Support Stories
Donations are what keep our work running and allow us to support the shelter every day. But some stories go further than a single gift—they reflect the power of people coming together to make an impact that lasts beyond one moment.
When Hunters Come Together
After important conversations in the community about the number of hounds entering the shelter, members of the local hunting community chose to take action in a meaningful way.
On one of the coldest mornings this month, hunt clubs, kennels, and community members arrived with a pallet of dog food and a $1,200 donation to support the dogs at King William Regional Animal Shelter.
While this initiative was independently organized, Friends of King William Animal Shelter was honored to help receive and direct this support where it’s needed most.
More than the donation itself, this moment represents something bigger—collaboration, accountability, and a shared commitment to the welfare of the animals in our community.
This is what progress looks like: people coming together, listening, and choosing to be part of the solution.
